Coordinating the chaos in residential construction

How it started

When our founder, Guy Montuelle, bought his custom home in 2018, he knew he was starting a journey that would take several months and call for hundreds of decisions. But he had no idea how intensive the process would turn out to be.

As a homebuyer, Guy saw how complex and demanding the customer journey is in residential construction projects. He also saw how many costly mistakes occur. After almost paying 500,000 NOK for an upgrade he had never selected, he started to see that his experience was not unique. Many construction projects creep out of budget and timeline due to poor collaboration — leaving many buyers dissatisfied.

Guy and his brother, Yuval, got the idea for a solution that would bring all project participants together to collaborate effectively throughout the homebuilding process. They developed and launched this solution in 2019, naming it Rubus.

How it´s going

Rubus´first project went live in 2019, and the rest is history. Rubus has steadily grown to include a broad portfolio of products, offices in four cities, end an expanding base of customers across Europe.

Kristoffer lends strategic insight to Rubus, having helped scale Vipps from 40 to 500 people with several M&As.

Nicolay started at Rubus in 2020 after serving as CTO at Tidsbanken, a SaaS company with over 100,000 users. He also has several years of experience as an operational developer and leader of developer teams.

Henning Lorenzen

Regional Manager, Germany

Henning co-founded Bau Digital in 2017, serving as CEO from its inception through Rubus’s acquisition in 2024. Prior to starting Bau Digital, Henning worked as a strategic advisor for larger companies in the areas of strategic brand management, sales, and partner strategies.
